Sean Kelly, DO

MEET THE DOCTOR

Sean Kelly, DO, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon with special interest in cartilage restoration, knee preservation, shoulder reconstruction, shoulder replacement, ACL surgery and robot-assisted joint replacement surgeries. As a former professional athlete, Dr. Kelly provides ‘performance medicine,’ a treatment philosophy focused on achieving dynamic, pain-free living and returning patients to the activities they enjoy. Dr. Kelly earned his undergraduate degree at Western Oregon University and Master of Public Health at St. George’s University. He went on to complete his medical degree at Rocky Vista College of Osteopathic Medicine and a residency in orthopedic surgery at LECOM Health. 

He furthered his training with a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. Today, Dr. Kelly serves as a team physician for the professional soccer team, Colorado Springs Switchbacks. 

As one who enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and golfing, Dr. Kelly is uniquely compassionate for those who have pain interfering with their activities. Whether treating a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, or someone missing their evening strolls, he is committed to providing individualized treatment plans that employ advanced techniques and technology to help patients achieve their goals. Whenever possible, Dr. Kelly uses minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robot-assisted surgeries, to reduce pain, shorten recovery time, and diminish scarring.

Dr. Kelly takes the essential time needed to meet one-on-one with each patient so that a trusting and lasting relationship can be established. During this initial consultation, the patient’s injuries are discussed, expectations assessed, and a realistic approach and treatment plan are provided.
